What to do in Tunisia in winter: 6 sure bets
1. The Sahara, finally at the right temperature
From October to April the desert runs at 20°C by day: the dunes of Douz, the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza, a camp night under an impossibly clear sky. 3. Djerba, the island that skips winter

How warm is Tunisia in winter?
It depends on the region. Djerba and the south: 16-20°C by day from December to February, with plenty of sun. The northern coast (Tunis, Hammamet): 14-18°C with some rainy spells. The desert: 18-22°C by day — but cold nights, sometimes near 5°C, so pack a proper fleece for a desert-camp night.
Can you swim in the sea in Tunisia in winter?
In the sea, barely — the water drops to 15-17°C. But winter is the season of heated pools and above all thalassotherapy: Hammamet and Djerba have some of the Mediterranean's best spa centres, at winter rates. For swimmable beaches, aim for May to October instead.
