  • Avoid driving at night in rural areas — livestock, unlit vehicles and pedestrians on the road. Keep night driving to cities and autoroutes.
  • Police checkpoints are common and routine — just slow down, show your driving licence and passport, and you will be waved through. Be polite and calm.
